Football agent Dnevni Avaz has denied reports that Manchester United have made an official bid for his client and Schalke 04 star Sead Kolasinac.
Bosnian newspaper Reprezentacija last week claimed that, despite having no manager, Manchester United had launched an official bid for Kolasinac.
Having never been linked with the player prior to the reports, the report looked suspiciously convenient from the outset.
Now his agent has confirmed what many Manchester United fan expected - there was never a bid from Old Trafford.
However, although Manchester United have not made an official offer to Schalke for the left-back, he did confirm that there was interest from several Premier League clubs.
Speaking to German newspaper Bild, he said: "There is no offer (from Manchester United), but there is interest from several clubs in England."
Manchester United may well be one of the clubs interested but interest from other outlets means they will be facing competition in the summer.
The Red Devils are very keen to sign a new left-back with Patrice Evra looking set to leave Old Trafford in the summer when his contract expires. Doubts over the ability of Alex Buttner means a new full-back is crucial for United.
However, both Liverpool and Chelsea are both rumoured to be in the market for a left-back as well. Liverpool have had to rely on youngster Jonathan Flanagan all season while Ashley Cole could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
Managerless Manchester United have also been linked with a £30m move for Southampton full-back and PFA Team of the Year nominee Luke Shaw.
