Carlos Tevez will be delighted Liverpool are taking an interest in his future because it could see him get a pay rise fro current club Juventus, who are worried their star man might be lured away.
According to SportMediaset, the Serie A champions are aware of possible interest coming out of Anfield should the Premier League leaders lose one of their most important players. Tevez has been very successful since he joined the Bianconeri from Manchester City in the summer and is currently their top scorer in Serie A with 18 goals, while also joint top assist maker with seven.
The report claims Liverpool are putting together contingencies if they end up losing one of Daniel Sturridge or Luis Suarez this summer, though are obviously hoping this is no the case. It would be difficult to envisage either of the pair departing Anfield after a terrific season, but reports have persisted of a possible Real Madrid bid for the Uruguayan.
Suarez and Sturridge have been in sensational form this season, with the former bagging 30 goals in the Premier League and the latter netting 20 times, which has been the basis of them mounting a stern title challenge. However, it took a savage blow at the hands of Chelsea on Sunday, as Jose Mourinho's side snatched a 2-0 victory in a very defensive display.
That defeat meant Manchester City can now win the title if they win their remaining games and was a blow to Liverpool but are certain to qualify for the Champions League next season, which many believed would be enough to keep hold of Suarez. However, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding his future since his high-profile flirting with Arsenal in the summer.
Juventus are obviously keen to keep hold of Tevez, but Serie A teams now struggle to match the spending of Premier League clubs and Liverpool boosted by Champions League cash could make a substantial offer.
