Insane goal helps Anaheim Ducks progress in NHL Playoffs

Published 1 Comments

Anaheim Ducks progressed through to the conference semi-finals Sunday night as they edged out the Dallas Stars 5-4 to win their playoff series 4-2.

The game was far from a standard affair, with both teams going at it right the whole way through until the most bizarre goal decided the fate of the stars and the Ducks for 2014.

Anaheim won the game in overtime, but it was goal in the remaining seconds of the third period that saved the contest for the Ducks, and gave them the chance to win in OT.

The video above shows the goal in all its bizarre glory, with a melee around the goal net starting at 2 minutes in on the clip involving several players before the puck breaks off to Devante Smith-Pelly, who finished off while the Stars tender lay helpless on the ice.
