Napoli are prepared to sell their star midfielder for as little as €25m (£20m) as they look to freshen up the squad for next season, reports Sport Mediaset.
President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants to push Napoli up a notch in the Serie A table and believes the squad has enough depth in midfield to cover for the loss of Hamsik.
In return, Napoli will use the funds generated from Hamsik's sale to purchase Real Madrid star Angel Di Maria, who has fallen out of favour with Carlo Ancelotti.
Napoli will listen to offers of £20m and above for the Slovakian, who has attracted interest from Manchester United in recent weeks.
Manchester United are preparing an unprecedented summer of spending and have been linked with a number of world-class stars.
One player constantly linked is Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos, but Bayern chiefs have spoken of their desire to keep the midfielder many times. Hamsik would not only be a cheaper alternative for Manchester United, but would also likely cost them less in wages.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United's new manager, believed to be Louis van Gaal, will continue to pursue Kroos or Hamsik, who were both added to the shortlist during David Moyes' doomed reign at Old Trafford.
Hamsik was valued as "priceless" by Napoli boss Rafa Benitez last season.
"What is Hamsik worth? Is Bale worth what Real Madrid paid for him? In this market if you say an outlandish figure then a club comes along and pays it," Benitez told Sportmediaset in September last year.
"That is why I say that Hamsik is priceless - because we do not want to sell.”
It seems Benitez has changed his tune over the last eight months with regards to the 26-year-old playmaker.
