France Football reports that Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Juventus' Paul Pogba to Real Madrid this summer.
Zidane has apparently phoned Juventus coach Antonio Conte to discuss Pogba's situation.
Real Madrid's interest in Pogba is nothing new, as Jose Mourinho took a shine to the French international during his time Bernabeu.
Current Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly unconvinced by Asier Illaramendi and knows that Xabi Alonso is not getting any younger, making 21-year-old Pogba an ideal target.
Paris-Saint-Germain are also in the race to sign Pogba, who with Mino Raiola has the same agent as many Paris players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Juventus know that Pogba is being courted by other clubs and are believed to have set a deliberately high asking price at €70m (£58m).
Whether any club would be willing to pay that much for Pogba will likely depend on his performances at the coming World Cup, where France are set to place a great deal of faith in the young midfield maestro.
