We have had Magic Johnson. We have had a former LA Police Commissioner. Now we have P Diddy.

With Donald Sterling banished from the NBA for the remainder of his life, and likely to be forced to sell the LA Clippers, after Adam Silver handed out the league's punishment today it doesn't look like the Cali franchise will have any trouble finding people interested in filling his position.

In the aftermath of the NBA commissioner's press conference which saw the disgraced Sterling left with little room to manoeuvre as he attempts to squirm out of the hole he put himself following his disgraceful racist comments, music-mogul P Diddy has offered his services:

"I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice," wrote the R&B star.

The Clippers are reportedly worth around $550 million right now so whether Diddy, real name Sean Combs, has the money to back up such a statement remains in question despite his huge success.

But that hasn't stopped the Twittersphere going into meltdown over the prospect, with #DiddyBuyTheClippers currently amongst the top trends in the United States.

I think we would still rather see Magic at the forefront of any potential takeover, but anything is better than Donald Sterling.
