Liverpool starlet will wait and see on future

Liverpool midfielder Suso concedes he is unsure if he will return to the club on a permanent basis next season, but adds that he has been in frequent contact with Brendan Rodgers and is optimistic over his long-term future.

Given the wealth of midfield options available to Rodgers, the Liverpool manager chose to allow Suso to further his education away from the club this season with the young Spaniard spending the entirety of the campaign on loan with Almeria. During his time in La Liga, Suso has scored three goals and contributed seven assists.

The 20-year-old admits it is unclear if he will remain with Almeria for another season, and will talk with Liverpool bosses at the end of the campaign. A return to the Champions League may present more opportunities for Suso than there would have been at Anfield this season, and he says he will just have wait and see with regards to his future.

"I will see what happens in the summer," Suso told The Mirror.

"We will negotiate then, but I could be back at Liverpool because next season they are going to be playing in more competitions - they're returning to the Champions League for one - so we will see what happens there.

"I speak with [Brendan] regularly, we are always in contact and I'm also in touch with other people at the club.

"For those reasons I still feel part of the club and, when possible, I have watched the majority of their matches this season."
