More rumours abound as the potential sale of the LA Clippers now enters the squared circle.
It may be shameless promotion for his WBC welterweight title defence this weekend, but there is pretty strong indications that Floyd Mayweather is looking to buy the LA Clippers.
Mayweather is worth $400million in career earnings and is currently the richest boxer, without even considering his business interests. He has three more fights left on his contract with promoter/broadcaster Showtime which could double that amount.
However a gossip website said that after this weekend's fight against Marcos Maidana, Mayweather will turn his attentions to the Clippers.
They have apparently already made their interest known to the NBA and are waiting until after the fight to enter official talks.
There are plenty of rumours already abound and the vote for the league to remove Donald Sterling, current owner of the Clippers and subject to NBA scansions after racist comments, and force him to sell up seems almost academic.
Regardless, the Clippers are an up and coming team, currently in the NBA Playoffs and with a great player in Blake Griffin. They would be a very popular acquisition for many a businessman.
