Walsall v Colchester: Match preview

Walsall hoping to finish on a high.
Walsall hoping to finish on a high..

Walsall face Colchester at the Banks's Stadium on Saturday and will hope to have something to celebrate.

After a recent drop in form, the Saddlers have given away a potential play-off place - falling to 11th in the League One table. With the possibility of a top 10 finish, manager Dean Smith will be finalising his line up to hopefully take three points from the U's.

However, Joe Dunne will be looking to prove his worth after narrowly avoiding relegation. After beating newly-promoted Brentford in a five-goal thriller on Saturday, it should be an interesting and emotional afternoon as Colchester fans look to remember the last day of the season for the right reasons.

With leading goalscorer Craig Westcarr returning from injury last week, he'll be keen to add to his tally. However, Colchester's Freddie Sears will look to increase his own after a brace against Brentford.

I believe it'll be an eventful 90 minutes, with both sides on the score sheet. In the end, I think that Walsall will take the three points and there will be an inevitable pitch invasion from the home fans.

Score prediction: Walsall FC 3 Colchester 2
