AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman's agent has dismissed speculation his client is set to join Manchester United this summer, after insisting there is no truth in the transfer rumours.
Sport Witness reports how the 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League champions for some time, and those rumours have resurfaced again after Louis Van Gaal's name was mentioned a possible replacement for David Moyes.
The fact Strootman is currently sidelined by injury and set to miss the World Cup has not prevented his name from continuing to be mooted with Manchester United.
And, in a bid to clear things up once and for all, an AS Roma fans website got in contact with the player's Italy-based representative to determine if there is any truth in the reports.
"Nothing is true, he's good in the capital," reiterated Fabio Parisi in a brief interview with La Roma 24.
Van Gaal is not even certain to replace the recently sacked Moyes at Old Trafford, and judging by comments made by Strootman's agent, there's no chance he'll be playing in Manchester United colours next season.
The Dutchman remains happy at Stadio Olimpico, and the Red Devils must turn attention to alternative midfield targets ahead of the transfer window this summer.
