Adam Lallana has enjoyed quite a season. The Southampton captain was named by his peers in the Premier League’s team of the year, while he may yet be included in England’s squad for the World Cup this summer. And, after that, a transfer to a club of more prominent standing could follow, with Liverpool and Manchester United both having been credited with interest.

Liverpool have been by bookmakers as the overwhelming favourites to conclude a deal for Lallana in the summer transfer window but, it has been claimed, an agreement may well have already been struck for the 25-year-old midfielder.

It was said during an episode of The Redmen TV this week that Lallana to Liverpool is already a “done deal”, with Craig Austen receiving information about the proposed transfer. The gossip supposedly comes from someone “close to Rickie Lambert”, who is from Merseyside, and claims Lallana is off to Anfield.

Lallana, who has been valued at around £25 million, supposedly desires a transfer to Liverpool over a move to Manchester United, with a switch to Old Trafford also mooted as a possibility. Manchester United could, however, sign another Saints star this summer, with numerous reports claiming the club are confident of capturing teenage left-back Luke Shaw.
