We've previously spoken about Group D being the group of death, but fans of Germany, Portugal, Ghana and the USA will certainly argue that having been placed together in Group G.

Two powerhouses of European football take on one of Africa's finest and an up-and-coming USA team in a group that is sure to provide some thrilling encounters.

According to the FIFA World Rankings, Germany are the second best team in the world, but that won't guarantee them qualification from a tricky group, let alone the ultimate glory of lifting the 2014 World Cup.

With all four teams possessing a host of world class talent it'd be silly to keep you waiting, so let's get started on our FIFA World Cup Group G preview.

Ok, so there is one last thing before we get started - we're going to give you a quick nudge in the direction of our previews of group A-F, which can be found simply by clicking on whatever group tickles your fancy.

Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, Group E, Group F.
