Robin Van Persie could return to play under Ryan Giggs as early as Saturday, according to reports.
The Mail Online claims that the Dutchmen is approaching match fitness and is eager to play again for the reigning Premier League champions this season. He was ruled out until the end of the season after suffering a knee injury against Olympiakos in March, however he has since returned to training after the sacking of manager David Moyes.
And interim manager Giggs hasn't ruled out a return for the 30-year-old this weekend against Sunderland. After being asked about his return, Giggs said: ‘We’ll just have to wait and see how he goes this week. He came back last Friday and he trained well"
Giggs won his first game in charge 4-0 against Norwich at Old Trafford and is being tippe to inspire United to win the last three games of the season against Sunderland, Hull City and Southampton. After a dismal campaign, this is what Manchester United fan's will be looking forward to and Van Persie's return couldn't come at a better time.
After scoring 17 goals this season, the striker will be looking to replicate the form that earned him the Premier League Golden Boot two years in a row. With Luis Suarez likely to be named as the winner this season, he'll be looking to take it back from the in form Uruguayan striker next year.
