Paulinho desperate to join Chelsea

Tottenham midfielder Paulinho likes the idea of joining Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The report claims the Spurs star is desperate to join fellow Brazilian international teammates David Luiz, Willian, Oscar and Ramires at Stamford Bridge despite just signing for Spurs last summer.

He joined in a £17m deal from Corinthians 10 months ago but has recently revealed his unhappiness at Tim Sherwood's rotation policy. The midfielder said he was "not feeling well or comfortable" with the situation at White Hart Lane and wants more first-team football.

Chelsea have not cemented their interest with a bid for Paulinho, although reports earlier today claimed a €35m package is being prepared by the west London club.

Paulinho, 25, wants to be a key part of Brazil's World Cup bid this summer and Chelsea are thought to be keen admirers of his ability despite his frustrations in his first season in English football.

The report claims Chelsea have been encouraged in their pursuit of Paulinho after being informed that the player would be willing to listen to their offer.

The Brazilian international was one of Tottenham's big name summer signings last year, after Spurs agreed the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid for a record breaking fee.
