Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Chelsea star David Luiz, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Luiz has had an indifferent season at Stamford Bridge, having struggled for opportunities in the Blues' back-line.

It remains to be seen as to whether Manchester United make a move for the flamboyant Brazilian in the up coming transfer window, as they look to improve their back-line.

Luiz is the second Chelsea player to be linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past couple of days, after reports indicated that United were keeping an eye on Eden Hazard after his negative comments regarding the Blues' exit from the Champions League this past week.

Manchester United, of course, signed Juan Mata from Stamford Bridge in the previous transfer market, and they could now land another one of Mourinho's stars this summer.

Reports have yet to indicate as to whether Manchester United will bid for Luiz or even Hazard in the near future, but many are expecting a busy summer at Old Trafford.

Manchester United's immediate attention, however, will turn to their Premier League clash with Sunderland Old Trafford. Temporary boss Ryan Giggs will be desperate to secure his second successive win for the Red Devils.
