Arsenal are confident that French international Laurent Koscielny will stay with the club, according to Goal.com

The centre-half, who has had a fine season at the Emirates outfit, has been linked with a move to some of Europe's elite clubs in recent time.

If reports are to be believed, Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in the player's services, with Bayern and Barcelona also monitoring the Frenchman.

However, reports are now indicating that the defender is expected to sign a new deal with Arsenal in the near future.

This will come as a major boost for Gunners as the defender has just over 12 months remaining on his current deal with the club. Koscielny, alongside Per Mertesacker, has been a key figure at the heart of the Arsenal defence over the course of the campaign.

Arsenal fans would be left heartbroken if the defender opts to leave the club for one of their Premier League rivals in the up coming transfer window. It remains to be seen as to whether the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea make a move for the ace, but it now appears that his long term future will be in north London.
