Arsenal transfer target Remy was a guest of Sagna

Loicy Remy fuelled speculation he would be joining Arsenal during the summer transfer window after he was pictured in the stands as the club beat West Brom on Sunday to secure their top four status. Arsene Wenger has, however, denied knowledge of the reason behind the Newcastle striker’s presence at the Emirates Stadium.

It is now reported by The Mirror that Remy was actually at Arsenal as a guest of Bacary Sagna, his international teammate with France. And, despite the Remy’s trip to Arsenal seemingly being an innocent one, the 27-year-old does remain a target for the club.

Remy is on loan at Newcastle from Queens Park Rangers and has scored 14 Premier League goals for the club this season. He is expected to secure a permanent transfer away from Loftus Road in the summer, although things may be subject to change if QPR achieve promotion through the playoffs.

Were Arsenal to make a formal approach for Remy, then QPR would reportedly request around £15 million in order to for the Gunners to complete the player’s transfer. Remy, meanwhile, supposedly wants a move to Arsenal given that he idolises club legend Thierry Henry.
