German midfielder, Thomas Muller, has been warmed by Bayern Munich's Chief Executive, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, that he must see the board regarding his future at the club.

Muller has been linked with a move to Manchester United for a fee of £37 million according to German newspaper, Bild.

Louis Van Gaal is the favourite to jump into the hot seat at Old Trafford and it is believed that the player would be interested reuniting with the Dutchman who brought him to Allianz in 2009.

Once he has ran out his tenure with the Netherlands this summer, Van Gaal will be in search of a new challenge and he has already expressed his interest with a position in England.

Tottenham have also been linked with him but are also rumoured to be making a deal with Ajax coach, Frank de Boer.

According to the Daily Mail, Rummenigge said: "If a player does not feel comfortable with Bayern Munich, he must come to my office. Then you have to talk about it."

The Germany International refused to comment on the rumours regarding him with a move to the Premier League. His contract doesn't run out until 2017.

Muller has featured in 24 Bundesliga matches this year and eight Champions League ties and has scored 25 goals. In Europe, he scored goals against Manchester City and Manchester United in the quarter-final.

In relation to the reports, he doesn't believe he has played enough games this year with the World Cup on the horizon yet it’s unlikely the midfielder will be dropped.

It is difficult for him to hold his place in the Munich side with further additions being brought into the middle of the park. At the moment, the attacking midfielder is contesting with Mario Gotze for a place in the team. Thiago Alcantara is also set to be instrumental in Pep Guardiola's future plans.

Manchester United are always on the lookout for players in this position. Juan Mata is still trying to get used to wearing the Red shirt whilst Shinji Kagawa has been frustrated on the sidelines and could be lured back to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The Red Devils have shortlisted several other players from the top of the Bundesliga. It has been well reported that United are keen on bringing Marco Reus into their side but Reus looks set to stay with manager, Jurgen Klopp, who has also committed his future there after being linked to the managerial position.

Toni Kroos, Muller’s team mate, is also on the radar but he still has another year at the club.
