Director of Wrestling Operations, MVP, has stepped in to break up the long-running feud between TNA’s company president Dixie Carter, and two-time World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray.
On last Thursday’s edition of Impact, Bully Ray came to the ring with a table which had spray-painted onto it the word, Dixie.
Ray was seeking revenge for Carter’s attack at Sacrifice four days earlier when, disguised as a photographer, Dixie crept up behind Bully and pushed him off the canvas through a table, during his match with Bobby Roode.
The attack left a furious Bully Ray with two damaged ribs, but despite the pain he was still standing on the following edition of Impact, desperate for revenge.
Since Bully Ray helped Team MVP win the Lethal Lockdown match in March, he has been feuding with both Carter and Roode.
But as he prepared to bomb Carter through a table, MVP decided enough was enough and decreed that neither Bully nor Dixie would be allowed near the Impact Zone for the foreseeable future.
Despite Ray announcing his intention to put Carter through a table at the start of the evening, Dixie came to the ring with Ray’s table and several members of security, to remind everyone of what happened at Sacrifice, continuing to brag about it.
She spoke of how Bully had continuously threatened her in the ring, but had failed to deliver.
Ray returned and told her that every pro wrestling fan wanted to see him put her through a table. He added that, contrary to her beliefs, he did not fear her – asking the security to step aside and allow him to advance on her.
The majority of Dixie’s security staff obliged and walked away, leaving just three men protecting a now apprehensive Carter. Ray asked the men to stand aside or have their ‘asses kicked’, counting down from five before charging the ring and fighting off the security.
Bully advanced on Dixie, but she stood her ground and attempted to slap Ray, who caught the attempt and held her arm in place.
Ray then went for the power-bomb, only to be cut off by MVP, who orders Bully to stop what he’s doing. He told them that he was sick of their constant ranting at each other, and that they would both be banned from the building.
Ray in unlikely to take MVP’s word as law however, having reminded MVP before he left that it was only thanks to him that he was in control. He then added that he would now go to the TNA offices in Nashville to chase down Carter once again.
