Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos has been forced out of his fight with Stipe Miocic. The fight was to headline the Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale, but a hand injury has forced JDS  to pull out.

In his official statement, Dos Santos said:

"I'm really sad. I apologize to my fans, to the UFC and to my opponent, Stipe Miocic, and hope to have another opportunity to fight in Brazil once my hand is healed."

Dos Santos was last seen when defeated by Cain Velasquez for the UFC Heavyweight Championship. Previous to that he defeated Mark Hunt via a spinning hook kick at UFC 160. He will no doubt be devastated as he looked for another shot against Velasquez.

As for Miocic, he has won two straight fights since losing to Stefan Struve. They've been against Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga.

With the event now without a headliner, the UFC will now either look for a completely new main event or a replacement for Miocic. A possible replacement could be Roy Nelson, who easily defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira on April 11th by first round KO.
