Louis van Gaal has agreed a deal with Manchester United to become their new manager, according to talkSPORT

The experienced manager - who is currently in charge of the Dutch national side - has been linked with the top job at Old Trafford for some time now, and it now appears that a deal is edging ever closer.

It appears that he will take charge of the Red Devils after this summer's World Cup as United look to enter a new era.

With Van Gaal set to be announced as the new Manchester United boss, it also appears that temporary manager Ryan Giggs will stay on at the club.

The Welshman has been in charge of Manchester United's last three games - including the team's 3-1 victory over Hull City last night.

Manchester United will now be hoping to end this season on a high as they travel to Southampton this weekend. United can still secure a place in next year's Europa League, should they beat the Saints and Tottenham lose at home to Aston Villa.
