The Players Championship, which is widely regarded as the fifth Major on the PGA Tour, gets underway tomorrow and the pairings have been announced.

The marquee group will be the one teeing off at 8:39am Eastern Time comprising of 2007 winner Phil Mickelson, 2008 champion Sergio Garcia and – one man who will be hoping for a better start than in this event last year - Dustin Johnson.

Mickelson and DJ spent yesterday playing alongside serial instagrammer Rickie Fowler, who documented their efforts at the famous 17th – which included an attempt to reach the island green “wrong-handed”.

Fowler, meanwhile, has been paired alongside Adam Scott, who won here in 2004, and Steve Stricker.

Another man who’ll be fans favourite is Bubba Watson, who returns to action for the first time since winning his second green jacket in April.

His pairing with Jimmy Walker and Matt Kuchar sees the current top three in this year’s FedExCup standings tee off together.

Walker tops the rankings with three victories, whilst Bubba is just ahead of Kuchar who has eight top 10’s to his name this season, including a win at the RBC Heritage.

One concern that remains for the field at this year’s Players Championship is the condition the greens.

During Tuesday’s practice rounds, three of the greens - at four, 11 and 12, remained off limits for the players preparations.

Despite the problems though, Commissioner Tim Finchem is confident that all of TPC Sawgrass’ stadium course will be ready in time.

That’s all today, join us tomorrow when we’ll continue to build up to The Players Championship. But before then, do follow us on Twitter @golfingworldtv and on Facebook and Instagram.
