Chelsea captain John Terry has enjoyed a fine season under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge.
However, at 33-years-old, he can't go on forever and Chelsea will have to start looking for replacements.
Mourinho has already signed highly rated teenager Kurt Zouma, and the youngster looks set to have a bright future at the Bridge.
But it may take a few years for the French international to really make it at the club, but there is one youngster who could slot nicely into the team, already.
And that man could be Real Madrid's £165 million rated star, Raphael Varane. Recent reports, however, have suggested that the Blues may try and get him on a cut price deal - and he would certainly be worth it.
At 21-years-old, Varane has the potential to be a world class defender for over a decade. In fact, the young Frenchman could become the best centre-half in the world in years to come.
Mourinho - despite all his critics in Spain - was the man to bring Varane to prominence. The 'Special One' handed Varane 35 appearances in all competitions at the La Liga giants last season, so he certainly trusts the youngster.
A commanding, powerful defender, comparisons between Varane and a younger John Terry could well be made.
He's perfect for the Premier League, and wouldn't have any trouble in settling in with the star names at Stamford Bridge - he's been at Real Madrid, after all.
With Varane and Zouma challenging for starting berths at the club, the pair could eventually become the catalyst behind the club's future success. France will certainly be expecting the duo to take off with each other on the international stage, so they could do the same in the Premier League.
It will take a special player to finally replace Terry at Chelsea - and Varane could be that man. If Real Madrid decide to let him go this summer, then Mourinho and Chelsea must pounce.
The Chelsea boss takes great pride in his defence, and with the likes of Zouma, Varane and highly rated goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois at the club, the club's future will be extremely bright.
