If you've been an avid WWE viewer for the past year or so, then you will understand that it's a great time to be a wrestling fan.
We've been treated to some of the greatest young, up-and-coming talents coming through from the developmental territory on NXT and have made a massive impact on the main roster.
The Wyatt Family, Big E, Paige and The Shield are some of the younger talent that have made a big impact and have been touted as the future.
The Shield are seen as the future of the WWE ever since they made their explosive debut when they attacked Ryback during his WWE Championship match with CM Punk. Since then, they did what they wanted, whenever they wanted. From taking out The Rock to having a short feud with the brilliant Wyatt Family and assisting The Authority in their failed attempt to take out Daniel Bryan. now their attentions have turned to Evolution, whom they defeated at Extreme Rules when Roman reigns pinned 'The Animal' Dave Batista.
Ever since Roman Reigns opened the eyes of fans as someone special, the internet went crazy surrounding his singles push and how he was seen as the one to carry the WWE into the future. That is still the case though, Reigns is an impressive talent who has been blessed with size and has come a long way in such a short space of time. Whereas his teammates in Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are the more gifted wrestlers inside the ring, due to their time on the independent scene.
Bringing the three together was a recipe for success, there probably won't be another team like that. Loyal fans of The Shield will have been bracing themselves for an inevitable Shield break-up which has been rumoured to occur for months. However as expected, another set of plans have changed regarding WWE booking.
According to WWE sources, the WWE are no longer considering breaking up The Shield. The Shield fans can now remain calm and not worry about the trio breaking off, of course it will happen one day which is understandable, but not right now.
The reason for the delay is because the WWE didn't expect The Shield to receive such strong babyface reactions, it's clear the fans like them.
However, if the WWE didn't change their plans and went along with the original plans, then right now we wouldn't be seeing The Shield every single week. By now, The Shield would have already split by now and the singles push for Roman Reigns will have already started. As of right now, there are currently no discussions of having the trio split up at any time soon.
With plans going the way they are, The Shield will be taking on Evolution once more at the Payback event in a few weeks' time, it will be contested in a six man tag team match or they might decide to go with three singles matches on the night.
Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton, Dean Ambrose vs. Batista and Seth Rollins vs. Triple H are the rumoured matches they could be going with at Payback.
WWE fans - what do you make of the fact that The Shield aren't scheduled to break up any time soon? Are you pleased that they're sticking together for the time being? Or were you looking forward to seeing them split? Have your say in the comments section below or come discuss all things WWE with me on Twitter @RazK28!
