Edinson Cavani has poured fuel on the fire of rumours linking him with a big-money summer move to Manchester United, after admitting that he will soon hold talks with his club over his future in France.
Following Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-1 loss to Rennes, which officially made certain that they will retain their Ligue 1 title, Cavani revealed that he was unsure when it came to the specific rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford, but was expecting to sit down with the president of his club and discuss his options. Recent reports have suggested that the Uruguayan striker would be a priority target if Louis van Gaal takes over at United, with some sources claiming a £50million bid could be in the offing.
Far from denying that he could be poised to move to the Premier League, according to Le 10 Sport the ex-Napoli striker said: “Manchester United? I do not know if it's true. You should ask those who speak to those who give information. My future? We certainly speak late in the season, with the President, with the club.”
Varying speculation has claimed that Cavani isn’t quite content with life at the Parc des Princes, despite having helped them to a successive French title. Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s dominant form has largely kept the 27-year-old playing on the wing, and it’s believed he would be willing to move clubs in order to return to his favoured striking role.
