Now that WrestleMania XXX is over, the next big pay-per-view to circle on your wrestling calendar is SummerSlam.

As expected some big matches are scheduled to take place at the event just like every year, in previous years we've seen some epic bouts which include a match of the year standard encounter between CM Punk and Brock Lesnar, Daniel Bryan defeating John Cena clean in the middle of the ring to be crowned the new WWE Champion and the highly anticipated encounter back in 2010 between The Nexus and Team WWE.

This year there are a couple of big matches lined up right now for SummerSlam, whether they come to fruition or not that remains to be seen as plans change on a constant basis in the WWE; for instance whatever the plan is right now could be changed or scuppered if and when the WWE see a different or a better opportunity to go with something else.

Based on the plans right now, we would be seeing a match between Triple H and The Shield's Roman Reigns. Reigns has been touted for a massive future as a singles superstar and a future WWE Champion. This current feud between Evolution and The Shield is a method of getting Roman Reigns over even more which will result in a match between the leader of Evolution and the muscle of The Shield.

This match solely depends on how this current feud turns out for The Shield, right now there aren't any plans to break up the trio any time soon  so it's unclear whether Reigns will be a singles superstar by the time he takes on Triple H, or whether he will still be a part of The Shield when he takes on Triple H; if the match does occur then the plan is for Roman Reigns to defeat Triple H and pick up a massive victory which would elevate him into a top face of the company.

A second rumoured match which is more likely to be happening is a match between Brock Lesnar and new 'Paul Heyman Guy' Cesaro. The WWE do have big plans for a future baby face push for Cesaro and the general feeling at this moment is to have Paul Heyman and Cesaro split and enter a feud with Brock Lesnar. This obviously is almost exactly the same situation as we witnessed with CM Punk, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar last year.

A Cesaro vs. Brock Lesnar match is one that is seen as a possible main event for the pay-per-view; and Cesaro is expected to defeat Lesnar. This is a bold move on the WWE's part but one which could definitely elevate Cesaro as one of the top guys in the company. It's a risk but having Cesaro defeat the man that conquered the streak is now considered a big achievement in itself.  If Cesaro can defeat Lesnar, he will become one of the greats in this era.

These are the two matches currently planned, however as expected another direction the WWE cold go with is a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar, in a match where Lesnar is expected to walk out as champion after ending the streak.

Goldust and Cody Rhodes also scheduled to break up soon after months of rumours, these rumours date back to before WrestleMania where a match between the two was rumoured, however Cody will be turning heel in the near future and a match between the two is also expected as SummerSlam.
