Johnny Manziel is one of the most polarizing figures in the history of the NFL draft. The former Texas A&M Aggies quarterback has lovers and devout critics in equal measure as he makes his way to Radio City Music Hall for the big event tonight.
Well his confidence may have taken a hit today, with the news that he has been called the most overrated player in this years draft.
Charley Casserly, a former NFL GM who has been involved in 18 drafts days and now NFL analyst, is not jumping on the Manziel-Mania bandwagon.
“I think this guy is the most overhyped player in the draft, and he’s by far the most overrated player in the draft,” Casserly said on NFL Network.
Casserly really isn't a fan of the former Texas A&M star, he published a mock draft on NFL.com this week in which he projected Manziel as falling out of the first round entirely, and believes that anyone who would use a first round pick on him would be completely wrong to do so.
There is almost no chance that Manziel makes it all the way through tonight and remains on the board heading into the second round, a team will fall in love with him early or others further down amazed that he is dropped and use a pick on the mercurial talent.
