Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has responded to rumours to rumours of Premier League interest from Manchester United and Man City with an attack on unfounded exit talk, insisting his long-term future will be at the Camp Nou until told otherwise.
Messi has been outrageously linked with both Manchester clubs over the last three months, with City reported to be weighing up a monumental €200m offer for the 26-year-old on more than one occasion, but the forward is adamant he pays no attention to what amounts to nothing more than exciting speculation.
Barca have survived a tumultuous campaign to be just two wins away from retaining their La Liga crown against the odds and Messi believes that's just one reason to stay with the club, while form featuring 41 goals in all competitions this season suggests there is no issue with his morale either.
The diminutive forward is reported by Goal.com to have told reporters earlier today: “A lot of things have come out in the press over the past year, and practically all of it is nothing but lies. I am fine.
“We are in a much better position now than we were a few weeks ago. There is a real possibility that we could win the league; it’s down to us.
"Winning the league depends on us alone; we have to make the most of the situation – we cannot let this chance slip away from us"
Tata Martino's men will be crowned champions if they win both of their remaining fixtures against Elche and Atletico Madrid, with a final-day clash against Diego Simeone's side promising to be a fantastic showdown if results can shape a potential winner-take-all finale to an incredible Spanish season.
