Despite leading the Drivers' Championship and driving the fastest car on the grid, Nico Rosberg is seeking to turn around his fortunes and end team mate Lewis Hamilton's winning streak.

Speaking before the Spanish Grand Prix, Rosberg said: "Every weekend is crucial but the results momentum is on his side and I need to try to turn it around.

"Definitely that is the case. I have come here to win, to try to extend the lead in the championship."

Rosberg currently leads his British colleague by four points despite Hamilton's three wins on the trot. The German will hope for a dry qualifying, as he has been behind Hamilton on the grid when qualifying has been in the wet.

"What I need is a normal weekend and then I'm sure I'll be able to turn things around," Rosberg added.

The Circuit de Catalunya  is a tough track with many long, demanding bends. Not only will the race in Barcelona kick off the European leg of the championship but it will also see the team's brining their biggest updates to date as they return nearer their European bases.

This presents a challenge but also an opportunity for Rosberg to extend his lead at the top and also silence some of the doubters who feel his team mate will get the better of him over the course of a long campaign.
