The Portland Trail Blazers arrived in San Antonio for the second contest of their playoff series with the Spurs to be greeted by a live snake in their locker room.
Their night ended in a sour manner after being handed a 114-97 loss in the AT&T Center by the home town Spurs but emotions before the game were more of fright than focus after spotting the slithering reptile in their locker room.
Power forward Thomas Robinson discovered the snake whilst putting his shoes in the cubby and described the moment: "I was scared, I'd only seen snakes on Discovery Channel before. I ain't gonna lie, I was scared."
What the big man didn't say was that he screamed and leaped in the air "about five feet high and 20 feet back" according to his snickering teammates.
Mo Williams wasn't the only Trail Blazer to comment on the un-welcomed guest, Williams took to twitter to let everyone know: "We get in the lockerroom n its a damn snake, yea a snake in the lockerroom. Man we was scared as hell"
Will Barton who is the locker-mate of Robinson explained how the "Brave trainers" saved the day by corralling the beast.
The snake turned out to be only 3-4 feet long but as Barton said: "It was big enough" to give the mighty Blazer athletes a real scare before game time.
