Liverpool flop Iago Aspas has revealed his desire to one day return to Spain.
Aspas has failed to replicate the kind of form that earned him a move to Liverpool from Celta at the beginning of the season.
The 26-year-old has scored just one goal since completing his move to Anfield which has seen him heavily criticised by members of the media and Liverpool fans alike.
Liverpool are unlikely to cut all ties with a player they forked out £7.7million just under 12 months ago.
Aspas has revealed he is not willing to end his stay at Liverpool after just one season at the club - but has admitted that he will eventually move back to his native Spain in order to compete in the La Liga once again.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Aspas said: "I have not thought about my future yet.
"I still have three more years under contract at the club. I took a big jump when I decided to move from Celta to Liverpool and I'm not going to jump off a bridge wanting to leave the club just one year after.
"But it's hard to go from playing all the time at Celta to playing so little here.
"I am happy because of the team but a player is selfish and wants to play more. This is obvious.
"Confidence for a player is everything and it's not the same when you play the whole game than when you just have five minutes in the second half.
"I have not spoken to the club [Celta] and the club have not spoken to me either. And I don't know what Liverpool will think about it.
"I have always said that I hope to return to Celta. I don't know if this year, in two or in five but I am sure I will return some day."
Aspas has made just five Premier League starts for Liverpool since moving to the Reds as he remains behind the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling.
