The NBA went into a period of mourning when it was announced that sideline reporter Craig Sager had been diagnosed with cancer, and even San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich showed his softer side.

Well today there has been a bit of good news for the league and its fans to latch onto. The sideline reporter will be discharged from hospital Friday, with more cancer treatments in the near future.

The news will be sweet music to the ears of those who have been delighted by the talents of Sager interviewing players and coaches on the sideline during TNT games.

Sager has had a lasting effect thanks to his work with Turner Sports, meaning that sports fans have become accustomed to his reporting and ridiculous suits over the year.

Even though he may wear some of the worst suits that have ever been made, we all wish Sager good health and a swift return to sports reporting.
