Everton are ready to enter the chase for QPR striker Loic Remy if they are unable to keep hold of Romelu Lukaku, reports the Daily Star.
Remy, who has been on loan at Newcastle, has created quite a stir over his future after his impressive displays this season, scoring 14 league goals, which have proved crucial for the struggling Magpies.
The 27-year-old French forward has been subject to speculation regarding a move to Arsenal. Speculation which attracted a lot more attention after he was spotted at an Arsenal game against West Brom at the Emirates last weekend.
However, Everton are now eyeing up Remy as there is no guarantee that their Belgian hit-man Romelu Lukaku will stay on Merseyside as his future is ultimately the decision of Jose Mourinho and his parent club, Chelsea.
There is a slight chance that Remy will remain a QPR player should they get promoted to the Premier League again, but with the former Marseille striker now hitting prime form, a move to one of the Premier League big boys now seems an almost certainty.
Alan Pardew and Newcastle, meanwhile, are eyeing English-based players this summer after making a flurry of French signings.
Two key players on Pardew's radar are Aston Villa's Fabian Delph and Austrian striker Andreas Weimann. Both of which will be key players following the imminent departure of Remy.
