We are disappointed with the draw in the end but obviously the game didn’t really mean too much as we had already secured our Premier League status and they were already relegated.

I again had quite a few chances to score - especially the one where their goalkeeper has made a terrific save with his foot. That’s just been the story of my season when it has come to scoring goals but that will hopefully change.

Dwight Gayle is among the best finishers at the club and I think he showed his quality again today. He’s a little fox in the box. He sniffs around hoping for scraps inside the area which we saw with the first goal.

My season took a while to get going because I picked up a niggling injury during pre-season but I have been happy with my form ever since I fully recovered.

Everyone expected me to come straight back in and play the same way as I did last season but it took me a while to get going.

We will look to start next season’s campaign sharper than this season as we struggled to pick up points during the first few months.

I am going to switch off from football during the next few weeks and then watch the World Cup. I will be keeping a close eye on the Ivory Coast and England of course.

I will also be cheering on Australia as our skipper Mile Jedinak is likely to be a key player for the Socceroos. I think he picked up a bit of a knock today but I am sure he will still make the plane to Brazil.

Several of my teammates have been on fire during the course of the season. Jason Puncheon has been quality of late. It’s just a shame that he probably won’t make England’s World Cup squad.

I really hope Julian Speroni hasn’t played his last game for Crystal Palace because he’s a fans’ favourite. He’s a legend and a big character in the dressing room.

It has also been a pleasure to play alongside Joel Ward. He’ s been one of the most consistent full-backs in the league this year. I think he has one of the best success rates when it comes to tackles, which shows just how important he has been to us.

I have enjoyed playing with all my teammates and I am looking forward to playing alongside them next season.

In terms of opposition players, Bacary Sagna has been the toughest opponent for myself - shortly followed by Glen Johnson and Pablo Zabaleta. I am looking forward to competing against them next season.

I want to finish my final blog of the season by again praising fans of Crystal Palace. I cannot ask anymore from them because they have been magnificent today and throughout the season. It is a shame we could not give them a win today but at least we are still in the Premier League!
