Chelsea duo Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole could be axed this summer if they don't accept contracts on less money, according to The Sun.
The pair are out of contract at Stamford Bridge at the end of next month, and it appears that they may not stay with Jose Mourinho's side for the 2014/15 campaign.
The Blues' season came to an end yesterday afternoon after picking up three points against Cardiff City, which could only secure them third place in the league.
And, as Chelsea look to improve for next season, uncertainty still looms over some of their most experienced players.
Lampard has had an incredible stint at Chelsea but, at 35-years-old, his career is coming to an end.
For Ashley Cole, however, he may want one last challenge away from the Bridge after struggling for opportunities this term. The veteran - who has been left out of Roy Hodgson's England squad for the World Cup - lost his place to Cesar Azpilicueta earlier on in the season.
However talks between Chelsea and the duo are set to take place next week, and it remains to be seen as to whether they are prepared to take a pay cut.
