Russian President Vladimir Putin showed of his hockey skills over the weekend as took part in an exhibition game which included a number of former NHL players.
The hard-nosed politician proved himself to be fairly adept with the hockey stick in the process, scoring six goals and assisting on another five in the game at Sochi's Winter Olympic Stadium.
Those stats, which helped his team to a 21-4 win, do sound mighty impressive, but when you take a look at the footage above it is fair to say the defense is slightly below the recent NHL playoff games which have been hitting our screens.
With opponents such as former Calgary Flames right wing Sergei Makarov and Alexander Mogilny, who spent nearly 20 years in the NHL, you might expect a little more pressure.
Then again, it is unlikely any of Putin's opponents were too keen on incurring his wrath should they make a hit.
The cynic in us leads us to believe that this might be another attempt to portray Putin as the ultimate leader, with previous bear-wrestling stories doing little to quell our suspicion.
