The Gunners interest in the Real Madrid ace has been clear for some time, but according to The Daily Mirror Manchester United are also interested in the player, with Real Madrid ready to start a bidding war between the clubs for his services.

The 26-year-old has had a mixed season at the Bernabeu, netting 17 La Liga goals but struggling to produce in some of the bigger matches.

But now as Real are keen on acquiring the services of Liverpool ace Luis Suarez, boss Carlo Ancelotti is looking too offload the former Lyon man after the club rejected several bids in the past.

Benzema has suffered from a knee injury of late, which saw him miss Madrid’s 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo on Sunday, but is expected to be back for the Champions League final against arch-rivals Atletico on May 24.

The striker has one year currently remaining on his contract, but with Madrid keen to get their summer business sorted quickly, the future of the player remains to be seen.
