Here are today's headlines in the world of US sport...

We begin in the NBA where LeBron James hit 49 points to propel the Miami Heat to a 102-96 win against the Brooklyn Nets last night. The victory gives the Heat a 3-1 lead in the playoff series.

The Portland Trail Blazers meanwhile staved off elimination for one more game at least thanks to a 103-92 win against the San Antonio Spurs.

In the NFL, Johnny Manziel could be missing a key receiving option when he begins his NFL career in Cleveland next season.

Reports suggest that Browns wideout Josh Gordon is facing a year’s suspension from the league after failing a recent marijuana test.

Over in the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens-Boston Bruins playoff series will go to Game Seven after the Canadiens comprehensively beat their rivals 4-0 on home ice.

And finally in baseball, the Chicago Cubs found their rhythm on the road Monday– scoring 17 runs in a dominant win against the St. Louis Cardinals.
