Manchester United supporters have mocked Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard yet again - this time by flying a different banner over the Aviva Stadium in Dublin during the Reds' friendly with Shamrock Rovers bearing the words "Giggs 13 Gerrard 0 MUFC20TIMES".
This latest incident came days after United fans paid for a plane to carry a banner reading "United 20 Gerrard 0!" to fly over Anfield on Sunday - in reference to the Liverpool captain failing to land his hands on his first ever Premier League winners' medal this month.
Gerrard came agonisingly close to winning the Premier League title for the first time this season, but his Liverpool side were eventually pipped to the post by Manchester City. The England captain's unfortunate slip against Chelsea at Anfield last month was also cruelly mocked by Red Devils' supporters, who have revelled in the 33-year-old's misery over recent weeks.
The banner-flying trend was started by Manchester United supporters back in March, when they paid £800 for a plane to fly over Old Trafford with the message "Wrong One - Moyes Out" in seven-foot high red lettering.
Those supporters who organised this latest banner effort, however, must have been left bitterly disappointed to discover Gerrard was not in Liverpool's match day squad. The likes of Gerrard, Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling were all given a deserved rest, but the Reds still ran out 4-0 winners thanks to goal from Iago Aspas, Fabio Borini, Martin Kelly and Jack Dunn.
