Bacary Sagna close to agreeing deal to ditch Arsenal for Man City

Manchester City are close to securing a deal which will see Arsenal star Bacary Sagna move to the Etihad as part of a three-man swoop, according to reports.

The Express claims that the newly-crowned Premier League champions will soon announce deals for Sagna and Porto pair Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala, with Joleon Lescott and Gareth Barry set to be amongst those departing the club this season. The news will unlikely sit well with Arsenal fans, many of whom still harbour hope of Sagna making a U-turn on his decision to snub the contract offers made his way and penning a new deal.

The French right-back has been at odds with the Gunners for some time now over how much he deserves to be paid in a new deal, and it would appear that City are taking full advantage of the friction by attempting to secure his signature before his contract runs out this summer.

The triple deal in question is one which will undoubtedly improve City’s back-line, which has looked precariously shaky at times this season. Mangala could slip in alongside central stalwart Vincent Kompany, whilst Sagna’s vast experience will be a boost and Fernando’s ability to break up attacks adds yet more mettle to their midfield.
