WWE Payback edges closer and that means a lot more news continues to come out from the WWE.
A number of stories have been emerging from the WWE as expected where the referee's are unhappy with pay, a new TV deal has been finalised with the WWE and the potential plans for The Beast Incarnate, Brock Lesnar.
This article will contain spoilers; to avoid these please turn back now.
WWE sign new TV deal: Rumours were swirling around the internet regarding a potential new TV deal for SmackDown, where the weekly show could have been picked up by NBC Universal which would have allowed SmackDown to be aired live, rather than the current procedure of taping on a Tuesday and airing on a Friday.
However, no deal with NBC Universal has been completed and instead the WWE have renewed their deal with the USA Network, where Monday Night Raw will continue to air and Syfy will continue to air SmackDown on Friday Night's, ending the hopes of a live SmackDown broadcast.
Daniel Bryan undergoes successful surgery: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan has undergone successful neck surgery. He was diagnosed with with the nerve issue in his neck which he only revealed to the WWE Universe on Monday Night Raw, the injury and surgery will most likely see him miss his match with Kane at Payback, but he could return in time for SummerSlam.
The WWE however, will not rush his return as he will be avoiding physical activity.
Referees unhappy with pay: The money situation is not only a problem for the WWE superstars such as Batista and CM Punk, but rumours suggest that the WWE referee's are also unhappy with the pay at the moment. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggest that the officials are unable to make ends meet because pay is not good, and that they pay for their own travel.
The rules the WWE superstars follow, the referee's also follow. If live event numbers are good then both superstars and referee's get good pay, but if the numbers are bad then obviously, they are paid less.
WWE finally sign Prince Devitt: One of the worst kept secrets in the WWE has finally come to fruition, former Ring of Honor and NJPW superstar Prince Devitt has finally signed a contract with the WWE. The talented Irishman is expected to meet up with developmental soon as he finally begins his WWE career with the WWE.
At 32 years of age it's difficult to see Devitt becoming a massive star on the main roster, but his talent should be utilised well for as long as he stays, let's hope this doesn't turn out like the Sin Cara saga.
Brock Lesnar rumoured for SummerSlam and Night of Champions: After ending the streak at WrestleMania XXX and boasting about it the following night on Raw, the next time we see Lesnar compete could be at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view. The current plan for Lesnar is to take on the same opponent at both events, and the current names being thrown around right now are Cesaro and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan.
A feud with Cesaro has been heavily touted over the past few weeks and it has been expected the a bout between the two could take place at SummerSlam. The reason the WWE are bringing Lesnar back around this time is because the WWE Network renewals are set to take place around the same time, so having a mega star like Lesnar could persuade current users to renew their subscriptions.
Roman Reigns suffers eye injury - avoids concussion: The WWE are currently on their European tour where Roman Reigns took on Randy Orton inside a steel cage. During the match reigns attempted a spear and the two collided heads which left Reigns with a nasty eye injury. He did finish the match and there were concerns he suffered a concussion, however as time went on the concerns were alleviated and it seems as if he has avoided a concussion.
If you're interesting in seeing his eye injury, you can check his post on Twitter here.
Rumoured Payback Match: With the Payback card now coming together, with Adam Rose vs. Jack Swagger still a possibility, another rumoured match to take place at the event could see The Usos defend their WWE Tag Team Championships against the team of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan of The Wyatt Family.
Updated NXT Takeover card: On May 29 the WWE Network will broadcast the second NXT special. The live event currently has four matches taking place on the night but more are expected to come to fruition in the coming week.
