Manchester United are confident of signing both Luke Shaw and Toni Kroos before next month's World Cup in Brazil.
The Daily Telegraph believe the two deals could be completed in the next few weeks after Louis van Gaal agreed that they would be welcome additions to Manchester United's squad.
Former manager David Moyes was planning to sign the aforementioned duo in the summer before he was dismissed from his role at Old Trafford.
However Van Gaal has given Manchester United's chief executive Ed Woodward the go-ahead to sign both Shaw and Kroos.
The Red Devils have already tabled a £27million bid for Southampton's left-back Shaw - which is expected to be rejected in the coming days.
Manchester United are expected to increase their offer to £30million if Southampton do decide to shun their opening offer.
Kroos, on the other hand, is also likely to cost a similar amount despite the fact he has just one year remaining on his contract.
