Manchester United midfielder Anderson could return to Old Trafford this summer as Fiorentina appear to have pulled the plug on a permanent deal to sign the Brazilian, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Anderson joined Serie A outfit Fiorentina in January after failing to work his way into former Manchester United manager David Moyes' plans.
The 26-year-old, who featured in just four Premier League games for Manchester United before moving to Italy, was expected to join Fiorentina on a permanent basis this summer.
However the Viola are having second thoughts about the possibility of signing Anderson as he is yet to make any real impact at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Anderson, who was tipped to become the next Ronaldinho when he completed a £25million move to Old Trafford, has played just seven league games for Vincenzo Montella's side.
The former Porto midfielder may get yet another chance to shine at Old Trafford as incoming manager Louis van Gaal is likely to want to assess all of his options.
