Steve Nash compares prospect of NBA retirement to death

NBA legend and current LA Lakers point-guard Steve Nash is struggling to come to terms with the fact that he is well and truly in the twilight years of his career, and he has even gone as far to comparing retiring with the prospect of death.

It's quite an extreme comparison by Nash but we can understand where he is coming from. Quitting the game that you love must be the hardest thing to do, especially after having such a successful time at the top like Nash did with the Phoenix Suns.

Ironically, since he joined the storied franchise of the Lakers he has had his worst years in the NBA, but it could be argued that has more to do with his age of 40 and lingering injuries.

Nash has spoken about coming to grips with the end of his career (he has one year left on his current contract) and his decision to chronicle this time in his life for a Grantland video series called “The Finish Line.”
