Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva's anticipated UFC return is expected during the early months of 2015. He's already recovered from his broken leg suffered when he faced Chris Weidman in December, and there has been footage of him in training.
'The Spider' seems very keen to return to the Octagon. However with eight fights on his contract and at 39 years old, he doesn't know whether he will compete in all of those. Speaking to SportTV, Silva said:
"I have eight fights to do yet in my contract. I want to do all these fights but I don't know that I will be in the mood to do this.
"For now, I'm very excited, I'm going through a renovation phase. It's going to be nice for me do what I love when I be back to fighting."
Silva has had an impressive career to say the least. He holds the record for straight wins in the UFC at a miraculous 16, defending the Middleweight title in 11 of those. In July 2013, Silva lost to now champion Chris Weidman, when he was caught showboating, losing the fight by TKO. He then fought Weidman again in December but Silva broke his leg and couldn't continue.
The Brazilian's return will draw huge numbers for the UFC. He is one of the companies biggest PPV draws and is a massive star. Silva will no doubt aim to get his title back.
