Chris Ashton exclusively gives GiveMeSport his thoughts ahead of Saracens' Heineken Cup final encounter with Toulon this weekend...
On Saturday evening Saracens will go head to head with Toulon at the Millennium Stadium in the last Heineken Cup final.
Both sides are still on course for a double after reaching their respective domestic finals, but only one team will leave Cardiff with those aspirations intact.
Toulon are looking to follow in the footsteps of Leinster and Leicester and retain the European title. Last season Mourad Boudjellal's galacticos beat Saracens 24-12, in the semi-final at Twickenham, and went on to edge past Clermont Auvernge in the final.
Saracens winger Chris Ashton insists that the London Club are brimming with excitement ahead of their first Heineken Cup final.
"There are great times ahead," said Ashton, "these are the games you want to be involved in as a player. These are the memories we want to create, within this group at Saracens, we have got such a tight team and everyone plays for each other.
"You know what you are going to get with our team every week, you know that everyone is going to put their body on the line and there is not going to be a game where someone is not with it.
"We all understand each others roles, we expect a performance every week, if we do not get that we are very disappointed with ourselves."
Saracens are understandably flying high. After demolishing Clermont 46-6 in the semi-finals, they believe that they can overcome the reigning champions, despite going into the game as underdogs.
"Although I think we will be under dogs. We will give ourselves a fighting chance, we always do. Anything can happen on the day, it is a world XV, but what better team to to put ourselves up against and test ourselves. On that one day in Cardiff it is anyone's to be had."
This a mouth watering clash, that should bring the Heineken Cup to a thrilling conclusion, with the tournament set to be replaced by the Rugby Champions Cup next season.
