Loan stars Gerard Deulofeu and Rafinha will return to Barcelona and join the first team squad for next season, reports Sky Sports.
The decision is one of the first made by new Barça boss Luis Enrique and will see both players link up with a manager that they know well - Enrique coached the pair during his three-year spell as coach of the B team.
20-year-old Deulofeu is a product of Barcelona's renowned La Masia academy and impressed both fans and critics during his season at Everton, contributing three goals in 25 appearances.
Attacking midfielder Rafinha - not be confused with the Bayern Munich right-back of the same name - is the younger brother of Thiago Alcântara and also a graduate of La Masia. He spent last term on loan at Celta Vigo, playing 32 games and scoring 4 goals, including a brace at Real Sociedad, in what was a successful season under the tutelage of Enrique.
Sky Sports suggests that the Toffees were keen on extending the loan of Deulofeu; however, with Enrique in charge, this won’t be happening – no doubt to the disappointment of Roberto Martinez and the Everton fans, who were wowed at times last season by the pacey winger.
Both Deulofeu and Rafinha are tipped to develop into world-class players in the next few years and each showed real moments of class for their respective loans clubs last season. How big a role they will play for Barça under Enrique remains to be seen, but their long-term future at the club looks very promising indeed.
