It would seem Manchester United are edging ever closer to the signing of former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas, as Louis van Gaal is prepared to pay €55million to ensure that they don’t miss out.
Last summer David Moyes tried and failed to lure the Spaniard to Old Trafford, but it’s thought this time around that United will pay in excess of Barcelona’s asking price so that they’re guaranteed their man.
Whilst that’s not good news for Arsenal, it’s not all doom and gloom in north London. Certain reports relay that the Gunners have been boosted by the odd situation concerning Manchester City’s Yaya Toure, and that Arsene Wenger could move to try and sign the Ivorian. The midfielder posted a series of confusing tweets yesterday after not being wished happy birthday by his club, and some speculate that he’s now looking for shock exit.
Samuel Eto’o has yet again made headlines by hitting out at Jose Mourinho, this time calling the Special One a puppet. The Cameroon striker previously labelled his current manager a fool, but has now gone one better and said that he will continue playing at the highest level, regardless of what a puppet says. This is in reference to Mourinho’s comments earlier this season which described Eto’o as an old man.
