Paris Saint-Germain heavy favourites to sign Eden Hazard

Published 1 Comments

Chelsea will have to fight tooth and nail to retain the services of Eden Hazard past the summer transfer window as Paris Saint-Germain prepare to throw the full weight of their financial muscle behind a deal to take him to Ligue 1.

The Blues have already braced themselves for offers for their Belgian superstar, and recent reports claim that PSG would be prepared to sell on Ezequiel Lavezzi - who coincidentally finds himself on Jose Mourinho’s radar - to fund a move. And now it looks as though the possibility of Hazard making a shock return to France is far more feasible than many would have previously believed, as the bookmakers have him at very good odds to be playing at the Parc des Princes as of September 2.

SkyBet place the 23-year-old at 2/1 to be signed by PSG this summer, which would infer that they strongly believe a deal could be made. Whilst the general consensus is that Mourinho would be loath to depart with his star performer, there have been murmurs of discontent from Hazard’s camp at certain points this season, and his French suitors could offer him far in excess of his current deal at Chelsea salary wise.
