Chelsea are monitoring Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner and believe that a fee of around £6.5 million could be enough to buy him, reports talkSPORT.
Lichtsteiner has just one year remaining of his current contract and is yet to negotiate an extension to remain with the Turin club beyond 2015.
He has just won his third Serie A crown with Juventus and is also set to go to the World Cup with Switzerland this summer.
With Ashley Cole announcing via twitter that he will probably be leaving Chelsea this summer, a move could well be on the cards, although Premier League rivals such as Arsenal and Manchester United have also been previously credited with an interest in the former Lazio man.
Chelsea look as if they could be favourites to sign him, however, since they have have been monitoring the situation for a while.
Cole's imminent departure means that Chelsea will be in short of a full-back for next season, although the likes of Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta have proved themselves more than capable at Stamford Bridge.
